I see a lot of people out there who succumbs to the overwhelming bad news out there. I thought it would be good for the public and my clients if I could give some summarised tips on what to do with your investment in bad economic times:
1) Do not succumb to fear and panic sell
2) Staying invested does pay off and get more returns
3) Invest for long term 10-20 yrs. All if not Most of the time you would have positve returns
4) Investors Adopt Buy and Hold strategy (Only speculators arbitrage, trade and speculate..most of the time they do not enjoy good returns in the long haul)
5) Diverse in proper asset allocation to minimise risk
6) Buy Low Sell High
7) Rebalance your portfolio regularly to minimise risk
8) Understand that economy moves in cycles: upturns then downturns and upturns again
9) Lastly to reiterate: Ignore the noise and manage your fear
