This is one of the acquired disease status related to human immuno deficiency disease virus called HIV.
In this disease status whether acquired by blood transfusion or by some other means, the CD4+ T cells that are responsible for the immune system of a person are highly affected.
There is a severe derangement of immunity of the persons, finally. In 1988, 3% of the adults and 13% of the children contacted HIV through the blood transfusion.
Hence, the affected persons have seriously low immune status. Subsequently, the patients start revealing the clinical symptoms.
Hemophiliacs, homosexual men and women, heterosexual men and women engaging in unprotected sex and recipients of infected transfusion blood will get severely affected by this viral infections.
Whenever immunity is impaired due to multiple factors, the transfusion based HIV problem takes upper hand.
In Tanzania, HIV sero positive persons die 12.9 times more than the HIV sero negative persons. In 1981, AIDS was caused by HIV infections.
Reports from USA in the year 1994 indicated that the development of AIDS following known seroconversion of HIV was repeatedly noticed in pediatric and adult blood transfusion cases.
